Description:
The Norton “Band of Lights” band program is a wonderful opportunity for third, fourth, and fifth grade students to begin their musical journey by learning woodwind and brass instruments in a fun and supportive environment. Students will explore a variety of musical styles while building foundational skills through ensemble rehearsals and sectional practices. The musicians will grow in confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a love for making music. One of the highlights in our band program is the South Gwinnett Cluster Band Camp, where young musicians from across the South Gwinnett cluster come together to learn, rehearse, and perform. This experience, hosted by the South Gwinnett High School "Band of Stars", helps prepare students for continued success in middle school and high school band programs; all while having musical fun! The Band of Lights lays the foundation for lasting musical skills, friendships, and a strong sense of community. The first session will take place the afternoon of Wednesday, September 10th, 2025.
