Local School Council

Norton Elementary School's Local School Council (LSC) is an advisory board, designated by GA House Bill 1187, that meets throughout the year to discuss and make recommendations for continuous school improvement and to build community awareness and interest in educational affairs. The committee is comprised of parent representatives, teacher representatives, local business members, and the principal.

The Local School Council meets a minimum of four times each year. Meeting dates are published below and on the GCPS Local School Council website.

Meeting Dates:

• Monday, August 31, 2026 from 9:00am to 10:30am (at Norton Elementary School in the Family Engagement Center)
• Monday, September 21, 2026 from 9:00am to 10:00am (at Norton Elementary School in the Family Engagement Center)
• Monday, November 16, 2026 from 9:00am to 10:00am (at Norton Elementary School in the Family Engagement Center)
• Monday, February 22, 2027 from 9:00am to 10:00am (at Norton Elementary School in the Family Engagement Center) 
• Thursday, March 18, 2027 at 8:30 am (at South Gwinnett High School for the cluster local school council meeting)
