Mission Statement
The mission of Norton Elementary School’s Counseling Department is that all students should be afforded opportunities for guidance and support in becoming life-long learners and develop skills to support their personal, social, academic, and career goals. The counselors work to provide a comprehensive and developmental guidance program that meets individual student needs. They work in partnership with parents, teachers, administrators, and members of the community to remove barriers to student success.

Dr. Kentosha Cody
My name is Dr. Kentosha Cody and I am thrilled to serve as your Professional School Counselor at Norton Elementary School. Serving students, staff, and families is a passion and a personal mission.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from the University of Georgia, in Athens, Georgia. I then pursued my master’s degree in counseling. In addition, I have received my doctoral degree in Psychology, specializing in Counseling Psychology. I have supported individuals and families throughout my career all while advancing my education. From working in Public Health in Athens, Georgia to volunteering with the American Red Cross, to community counseling, to serving in the Georgia Public School System, all my culminating experiences have contributed to the professional I am today.
I have served as an Educator and School Counselor for a total of 16 years (10 years as a Special Education Teacher, 6 years as a School Counselor, and 4 years as Special Education Compliance). I do not take serving my community lightly. I am a resource as well as an advocate for the students and families that I serve. Lisa Sanchez
My name is Ms.Lisa Sanchez, and I am THRILLED to be your child's Kindergarten through 2nd grade school counselor. I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. I am a huge football fan and I LOVE the RAVENS! In my free time I like to listen to books and music, watch movies with my family, and play with my spoiled dog named Bella.
I have been in education for 10 years and I love every minute of it! I have a passion for education, and I am dedicated to creating a positive social/emotional and supportive learning environment. I have a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Spanish Literature from Georgia State University and a master’s degree in School Counseling at Arkansas State University. I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree in Education with a concentration in Counseling and Traumatology from Liberty University.
